DID Dado Industrial Design<\/b> was founded in Milan in the early 1970s by Dante Aliprandi, in close collaboration with leading designers such as Torrigiani, Chiapp\u00f2 Cortesi and others. DID quickly established itself for its bold vision in the field of furniture, producing furniture and objects that skilfully fused industrial aesthetics with modern, refined design. At its peak, the brand reached such a level of influence and recognition that in 1973 it was awarded the prestigious Premio Esportatori at the Campidoglio in Rome. Unfortunately, following the sale of several companies to Sidercomit and Duina's bankruptcy in 1978, DID was forced to close. Despite the closure, Aliprandi started a new company, Maxform, which continued to produce the same catalogue as DID for a few years before also ceasing operations. The history of DID is an example of how a company, however short-lived, can leave an indelible mark on the design scene. These 'Clematis' chairs are tangible evidence of the excellence and innovation that characterised the short but intense life of Dado Industrial Design.<\/p>\n
