A white, black and green glazed ceramic 'Pull' saucer with a round shape made by the company Mas Italy Ceramiche in the late 1980s, designed by Massimo Materassi and Luigi Castaldi. Originally created as favours, they also won the prestigious 'Sabo Prize', the highest international award in the sector at the time, becoming true works of design. Mas Italy, famous for its quality craftsmanship, was a renowned Italian company active in the 1980s, specialising in the production of ceramics with a distinctive design. Its creations were characterised by the use of bold geometric shapes and vibrant colour combinations, embodying the innovative spirit of Italian design at the time. Indeed, it was during this period that Italy was at the centre of influential design movements, such as the Memphis Group, founded by Ettore Sottsass in 1981. This collective was distinguished by its postmodern approach, using bright colours and geometric shapes to challenge traditional design canons. MAS Italy's ceramics reflected this trend, with products that combined aesthetics and functionality in an innovative way.
